Multifunctional high-tech labels The high-tech label from Pago seals the Meinl coffee beans container. The metallic look of the label and haptic elements emphasise the premium image of the brand. Hidden features offer increased protection against copying. In addition, data printed on the label gives the catering company information on the expiry date of the coffee beans. The most important function of the label is provided by the integrated RFID chip: maximum protection against manipulation throughout the supply chain.

In the catering company the sealed container is placed on the Meinl coffee grinder system. It identifi es the original container on the basis of the RFID chip in the label. Each grinding is logged on the RFID chip and in the grinding system. After a maximum of 200 grindings the grinder automatically stops. The empty bean container must now be replaced with a new, full original container so the grinder can restart. Should anyone attempt to reuse the empty container and fi ll it with another coff   brand the grinder will remain inactive.

This solution therefore provides a hundred percent guarantee that only original »Julius Meinl 1862 Premium« coffee is used in the Meinl coffee grinders. This rules out the possibility of misuse throughout the entire logistics chain!
